Shijie (CJ) Lu (吕世杰)

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Jerome Robinson Fellow at the Bauer College of Business, University of Houston.

I am a quantitative marketing researcher. My research interests primarily focus on online advertising, user-generated content, competitive strategy, and piracy.

My research has appeared in leading business journals, including Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Consumer Research. I currently serve on the editorial review board of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Marketing. I teach Intro to Digital Marketing at the University of Houston.

I received my Ph.D. in business administration (marketing) from the University of Southern California, where I also earned a master’s degree in economics. I obtained my B.S. in mathematics and B.A. in economics from the Peking University. Before joining the UH, I served on the faculty at the UNC Chapel Hill.
